What would be the best way to go about this? I find myself not very motivated to do anything right now, including tapping.  Has anyone else had/solved this problem?  What were some of the setup phrases you used? Thanks.

The worst thing you can do is lie to yourself, because then everything you say becomes a lie.

Well, that's a bitch, isn't it? If one can hardly even make oneself tap at all... What can I say, more than this seems to be a wave formation with lows and highs. What if you are at the bottom of a low just now. Can you accept that? Can you accept yourself for being where you are just now, knowing that you may be anywhere else tomorrow? What about taping on "Even though I don't want to do anything, I love and accept myself", Even if I don't love and accept myself, I love and accept myself" (one of my favorites in the "silly" department) or "Even though I can't be bothered to tap at all..." as a starter. If that releases something, maybe the will to go on increases.

On subjects like this, I find Gary Craigs use of affirmations to come in handy. Pick an affirmation, in this case maybe something like "I'm a happy person and I dare do lots of new things." or whatever makes you twist inside. The twisting and defensiveness is the key. An affirmation that you believe in already doesn't spark any defenses and "yes, but"s that you may work with and tap on.

Repeat the affirmation a couple of times to get the feel of it. Notice how your bodyparts churn and react against the idea. Write down all your "buts". They may come out as "that's preposterous", "I'm not happy!", "I'm afraid of new experiences" and things like that. Write down everything that comes up for you. Don't judge anything as silly or threatening, they are all there to tap away.

And that's just what you may do in the next step. Take your notes, see if there are any feelings in your "buts". For things as "that's preposterous" you may need to go down a level more, to look behind that idea and look for the feeling. Why do you feel it is preposterous? Then tap on the things on your list.

Say the affirmation again and check if there is anything left to work on. Do so, or choose another affirmation to work with.

I hope this has some value for you to get going.
